A new Pokemon Trading Card Game set is upon us and the 9th of June can’t come quick enough! So what can we expect from the upcoming set?
But the fun doesn’t stop there! In the Scarlet and Violet base set, we were treated to Koraidon and Miraidon ex cards to mark the first legendary Pokemon of generation 9. However, they were not the only legendary Pokemon introduced in the Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet video games on Nintendo Switch. A quartet of “Ruinous” legendary Pokemon were introduced in the form of Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, and Chi-Yu. Paldea Evolved marks their first appearance in the Pokemon Trading Card Game with each Pokemon receiving an ex card. Chein-Pao in particular is receiving a Battle Deck alongside Tinkaton in July!
In total, we have over 190 new Pokemon cards joining the active rotation, with more than 15 new ex Pokemon cards, new Tera Pokemon cards, and more than 30 Trainer cards, with lots of exciting alternative art cards to collect! So the question is: where do you start?
For first-time buyers of Pokemon cards, I’d recommend starting with either a Build & Battle Stadium, an Elite Trainer box, or a Paldea Evolved Booster Box.
