Disney Lorcana: Fabled is almost here! Releasing September 5, 2025, this magical new set introduces stunning Iconic and Epic rarity cards, beloved returning characters, and fan-favourite newcomers like Goofy and Powerline. The next chapter of Disney Lorcana is set to launch this fall. Disney Lorcana Fabled (Set 9) officially releases on September 5, 2025! Fabled brings a story-driven theme – its official tagline even says, “There’s power in the tales we tell…something for everyone in Fabled”. In other words, Fabled is all about celebrating Disney’s classic stories and characters, new and old!
One major change: new card rarities. Fabled debuts two special foil tiers called Iconic and Epic. Iconic cards are exceedingly rare — only two Iconic cards exist in the entire set. Mickey and Minnie Mouse are the two Iconics, each with gorgeous new artwork. “Mickey Mouse – Brave Little Prince” is one of the Iconic cards, with a shimmering foil treatment. One of the rarest cards in Lorcana so far.
The other new tier is Epic. Epic cards appear more often than the very rare Enchanted cards and have special enhanced art and foil treatments. Think of them as upgraded versions of familiar characters. For example, classic heroes like Elsa (as “Snow Queen”) will return in sparkling Epic foil variants. Together, the new Epic and Iconic rarities add an extra thrill to every booster pack for collectors hunting stunning new art.
Fabled brings back fan-favourite cards with new twists and even introduces some fresh Disney worlds. Many characters from The First Chapter set return in Fabled with brand-new foil art. For example, Winnie the Pooh reappears as “Hunny Wizard” in a vibrant new Enchanted foil design. At the same time, Fabled is bringing in new franchises. Disney’s 1995 movie A Goofy Movie makes its Lorcana debut — expect cards inspired by Goofy, his son Max, and even pop-star Powerline to join the game. (Fans have been excited to finally “Stand Out” in Lorcana with a Goofy Movie card!)
On the game side, Ravensburger is also refreshing the tournament format: with Fabled’s launch, the first four sets will rotate out of the Core Constructed format. (Players can still use those cards in a new “Infinity Constructed” format if they wish.) To keep things fresh, some fan-favourite cards from early sets are even being reprinted in Fabled, including new foil versions of classics. In short, Fabled gives casual collectors plenty to be excited about. Beautiful new cards and story connections, without making anyone feel left behind.
